Guide to Playing Soccer in Littlestown

There are a lot of options when it comes to soccer, which can be confusing. Below, you can read about all the options available in Littlestown. Why play soccer? Soccer is more than a game. Team values and representing the community come first. Players will strive to be their best and learn life skills in cooperation, leadership, and communication.

Youth (Ages 3-15)

Littlestown Youth Soccer Club supports teams for ages U6, U8, U10, U12, and U15 (as well as a program for 3-4 year olds). Teams play every spring and fall against other club teams from around the area. Each season includes about 8 games which are played on Saturdays and Sundays. Most teams practice twice during the week. No experience is necessary to play. You can sign up for Youth soccer at any time. It is recommended that you sign up for the spring season by the end of February and the fall season by the end of July. Click Registration to sign up!

Junior High (Grades 7-8)

Junior high soccer is sponsored by the Littlestown Area School District. It is free to play – a physical is the only requirement. All 7th and 8th graders interested in soccer are encouraged to play. There are separate boys and girls teams. Players of all skill levels play for their school and compete against surrounding schools. Junior high soccer helps players prepare for high school soccer. The season is in the spring (early March through late April). The season includes about 10 games played on weekdays with practices on weekdays that there are not games.

High School (Grades 9-12)

Littlestown is a PIAA AA school and member of the YAIAA Division III. All 9th – 12th graders are eligible to play high school soccer. It is free to play – a physical is the only requirement. There are separate boys and girls teams. Players of all skill levels play for their school and compete against surrounding schools. The season is in the fall (early August through late October). The season includes about 17 games played on weekdays and Saturdays with practices on weekdays that there are not games. The teams have separate JV and Varsity games played back-to-back. All players are part of their team, so there are not separate rosters or practice times for JV and Varsity. Many players on the team attend several off-season events including winter and summer workouts, indoor soccer, team camp, and tournaments.

Indoor (All Ages)

Indoor soccer opportunities vary from year to year. Typically, coaches of outdoor school and club teams put indoor teams together to compete in a winter season. The South Hanover YMCA and Carroll Indoor of Westminster are the closest indoor soccer complexes.
